cultural movement
Shared aesthetic shift
A cultural movement is a widespread shift in values, beliefs, attitudes, or practices across a society or significant portion of it.
Unlike political movements, cultural movements may lack formal organization or explicit goals, emerging instead from collective changes in how people think, create, or live: The counterculture was a cultural movement that rejected mainstream values.
Examples include the Renaissance, Romanticism, and the civil rights movement—though many movements blend cultural and political dimensions.
