crash zoom
Rapid lens push
A crash zoom is a rapid, dramatic zoom in or out performed with a camera, used for sudden emphasis or comedic effect.
Unlike smooth zooms, the crash zoom is deliberately jarring: The camera crash zoomed on his horrified face.
Common in 1970s action films and now often used ironically or for stylized effect in comedy and horror.
