A crapload is a large but unspecified amount—a vulgar intensification of "a load of": I've got a crapload of work to finish.
Less offensive than shitload, it occupies middle ground between polite alternatives like "a ton" and cruder expressions.
The word treats quantity as emphatic rather than precise.
