counting up
Tallying from below
Counting up is enumerating in ascending order, starting from a lower number and progressing toward a higher one: The teacher had the children practice counting up from one to twenty.
It contrasts with counting down.
Counting up can also mean tallying a total: We're still counting up the votes.
