conceptualists
Thought over craft
Conceptualists are people who prioritize ideas and concepts over execution or material form.
In art, conceptualists hold that the idea behind a work matters more than the finished object—a urinal in a gallery can be art if the concept justifies it.
In philosophy and other fields, conceptualists emphasize abstract frameworks over concrete particulars: The conceptualists on the committee cared more about theoretical elegance than practical implementation.
