communicants
Those receiving sacrament
Communicants are people who receive communion in a Christian church, or more broadly, members of a church entitled to receive it.
Church records often count communicants as a measure of active membership: The parish had three hundred communicants.
Outside religious contexts, a communicant is simply someone who communicates or imparts information, though this use is rare.
