collar stays
Keep points crisp
Collar stays are thin, rigid strips inserted into pockets on the underside of a dress shirt collar to keep the points flat and crisp.
They prevent curling and help the collar maintain its shape beneath a tie or jacket.
Most are removable plastic, though metal and mother-of-pearl versions exist: I forgot to put the collar stays back in after washing.
