cold process
No-cook saponification method
Cold process is a method of making soap by mixing fats or oils with lye at room temperature or with gentle warming, allowing saponification to occur slowly over weeks rather than through applied heat.
The technique preserves ingredients that might break down at higher temperatures: cold process soap retains more glycerin than commercial bars.
Also used for other products where heat would degrade quality.
