civvie
Someone not enlisted
Civvie is informal for civilian—someone not in the military, police, or other uniformed service.
Service members use it casually, sometimes with mild condescension: The civvies don't understand what deployment is like.
In the plural, civvies means civilian clothes as opposed to a uniform: He couldn't wait to get home and change into civvies.
