children's sermon
Kids' church talk
A children's sermon is a brief message during a worship service directed at young children, typically delivered at the front of the sanctuary with kids gathered around the speaker.
The pastor or lay leader uses simple language, props, or object lessons to convey a spiritual point: For the children's sermon, she brought a flashlight to talk about being a light in the world.
Common in Protestant churches, it gives children a moment of inclusion before they're dismissed to Sunday school.
