cellular phones
Pocket communication devices
Cellular phones are mobile telephones that connect to networks through a system of radio cells, each served by a base station.
The term was standard in the 1980s and 1990s when the technology was novel, but has largely given way to cell phones or simply phones as mobile communication became ubiquitous.
