Cellophane wrap is thin, transparent plastic film used to cover and protect food, gifts, or other items.
Though technically cellophane refers to a specific plant-based material, the term now applies loosely to any clear wrapping film: The basket was covered in cellophane wrap with a bow on top.
Also called cling wrap or plastic wrap when used in the kitchen.
