A soft pack is a package made of flexible material rather than a rigid container.
The term most commonly refers to cigarette packaging—a soft pack of cigarettes crushes easily in a pocket, unlike the sturdier hard pack or box.
The distinction extends to other products sold in both flexible and rigid containers: I prefer the soft pack because it fits in my back pocket.
