cassaba
Wrinkled yellow melon
Cassaba is a variety of muskmelon with a yellow rind and sweet, pale flesh.
Unlike cantaloupes, cassabas have smooth rather than netted skin and little aroma when ripe.
They're named after Kasaba, a town in Turkey.
Also spelled casaba: The cassaba was perfectly ripe and honey-sweet.
