cash-flow

Funds entering, leaving

Cash flow is the movement of money into and out of a business, account, or household over time.

Positive cash flow means more coming in than going out.

As a verb, to cash-flow something is to fund it from available revenue rather than borrowing: We can cash-flow the renovation instead of taking out a loan.

A cash-flow problem means insufficient funds to meet immediate obligations, even if assets exist on paper.
