Wrinkled yellow fruit
A casaba is a large winter melon with a yellow rind and pale, sweet flesh.
Unlike cantaloupes or honeydews, casabas have little aroma when ripe—you judge ripeness by the yellow color and slight softness at the stem end.
The casabas at the farmers market looked perfect.
