carrier oils
Dilution for essences
Carrier oils are neutral vegetable oils used to dilute essential oils before applying them to skin.
Essential oils are too concentrated to use directly, so they're mixed with carriers like jojoba, coconut, or sweet almond oil.
The carrier "carries" the active oil safely to the skin.
Add a few drops of lavender to a tablespoon of carrier oil.
