carnivorous mammals

Flesh-consuming warm-blooded animals

Carnivorous mammals are meat-eating members of the class Mammalia—animals that feed primarily on other animals.

The term applies broadly to any flesh-eating mammal, but also refers specifically to the order Carnivora, which includes cats, dogs, bears, seals, and weasels.

Not all members of this order eat meat exclusively; bears and raccoons are omnivores.

Lions are among the most recognizable carnivorous mammals.
