card skimmer

ATM fraud device

A card skimmer is a device secretly attached to ATMs, gas pumps, or payment terminals to steal credit or debit card information when users swipe or insert their cards.

Skimmers capture data from the magnetic stripe, often paired with hidden cameras or fake keypads to record PINs: Always check for loose parts before using an ATM—could be a card skimmer.
