caller IDs
Phone number displays
Caller IDs are the displays or systems that show who's calling before you answer the phone—typically the caller's name and number.
The term refers both to the technology and to the information itself: I checked the caller ID but didn't recognize the number.
People screen calls based on caller ID, answering some and ignoring others.
