calicoes
Patterned cotton fabrics
Calicoes is the plural of calico, a plain-woven cotton fabric, often printed with colorful patterns.
In American usage, calico particularly describes the distinctive patched coloring of cats—white with orange and black spots: The shelter had three calicoes and a tabby.
The plural calicos is equally common.
