caber
Highland throwing beam
A caber is a long, heavy wooden pole—typically a trimmed tree trunk—used in Scottish Highland games.
Competitors hoist the caber vertically, run forward, and flip it end over end.
The goal is not distance but accuracy: a perfect throw lands with the caber pointing directly away from the thrower, like twelve o'clock on a dial.
