Dimwitted annoying fool
Butthead is a mild insult for someone considered stupid, annoying, or contemptible.
It belongs to a family of compound insults pairing body parts with head—blockhead, bonehead, fathead—suggesting the person's head contains something other than brains.
Common in casual speech, especially among children and teenagers: Stop being such a butthead.
The term gained wider currency through the 1990s animated series *Beavis and Butt-Head*.
