butterfly strips
Adhesive wound closures
Butterfly strips are small adhesive bandages used to hold the edges of a wound together, allowing it to heal without stitches.
The strips are narrow in the middle and wider at the ends, resembling a butterfly's shape.
They're applied across a cut to pull the skin closed: The nurse used butterfly strips to close the gash on his forehead.
Also called butterfly closures or butterfly stitches.
