brake checker
Retaliatory abrupt decelerator
A brake checker is a driver who deliberately brakes suddenly in front of another vehicle, typically to intimidate a tailgater or provoke a rear-end collision.
The behavior is dangerous and sometimes used in insurance fraud schemes or road rage incidents: Some brake checker cut me off and slammed his brakes.
