booze hound
Devoted bar patron
A booze hound is someone who drinks alcohol heavily and habitually.
The term is informal and mildly disapproving, suggesting someone who pursues alcohol with the single-minded persistence of a hound on a scent: My uncle was a booze hound who couldn't make it through dinner without a few drinks.
