bonging

Deep resonant ringing

Bonging is the sound of a bell or gong—deep, resonant, and prolonged: The clock kept bonging through the night.

It also describes smoking marijuana or other substances through a water pipe (a bong): They spent the afternoon bonging in the basement.

The gerund works as both continuous action and verbal noun.
