bombload
Plane's explosive cargo
A bombload is the total weight or quantity of bombs that an aircraft carries on a mission.
The term applies both to the actual explosives aboard and to the aircraft's maximum carrying capacity for such ordnance.
The B-52's bombload exceeded anything previously deployed.
Military planners calculate bombloads based on mission requirements, aircraft specifications, and target characteristics.
