Unprepared first try
A blind run is an attempt at something without prior knowledge, preparation, or reconnaissance.
In video games, it's playing through a level or boss fight without having seen it before or consulting guides: My first blind run of Dark Souls took forty hours.
The term extends to any first attempt made without advance information: We did a blind run of the escape room.
