Dark Arabian racehorse
A 1941 novel by Walter Farley about a boy and a wild Arabian horse who survive a shipwreck together, spawning a long-running book series and a 1979 film.
The title has become shorthand for classic children's horse stories: I grew up reading The Black Stallion and its sequels.
