beauty filter
Digital skin smoother
A beauty filter is a digital effect applied to photos or videos that automatically smooths skin, enlarges eyes, slims faces, or otherwise enhances appearance according to conventional beauty standards.
Common on social media apps and video calls: I forgot to turn off my beauty filter before the work meeting.
The term sometimes carries critical undertones about unrealistic standards and filtered self-presentation online.
