base cabinet
Countertop support structure
A base cabinet is a floor-standing storage unit, typically found in kitchens and bathrooms, that supports countertops.
Base cabinets rest directly on the floor rather than being mounted on walls, and they provide the foundation for work surfaces above: We're replacing the base cabinets but keeping the uppers.
They usually stand about three feet tall and contain shelves, drawers, or specialized storage for items like trash bins or pull-out trays.
