barrel proof
Full distillery potency
Barrel proof describes whiskey bottled at the same alcohol concentration it reached during aging, without dilution.
Most spirits are cut with water before bottling to reach a standard proof, but barrel proof whiskey goes straight from cask to bottle, typically ranging from 100 to 140 proof.
Also called cask strength.
This barrel proof bourbon hits 126 proof—add a splash of water if it's too hot.
