bank overdraft
Account below zero
A bank overdraft is the amount by which withdrawals from an account exceed its balance—essentially borrowing from the bank to cover the shortfall.
Banks may honor the transaction and charge fees, or decline it outright.
An overdraft facility is a prearranged credit line allowing customers to spend beyond their balance up to a set limit: I dipped into my overdraft to cover rent this month.
