banana boats
Split dessert craft
Banana boats are inflatable watercraft shaped like elongated tubes, towed behind speedboats while riders straddle them—the goal being to hold on as the boat whips through waves and turns.
The name comes from the yellow color and curved shape.
Separately, a banana boat is a dessert: a banana split lengthwise, filled with ice cream and toppings, served in a boat-shaped dish.
We rode the banana boat until we wiped out.
