auditory feedback
Hearing your output
Auditory feedback is sound that tells you something happened—the click when you press a key, the beep when a microwave finishes, the chime confirming a payment went through.
In speech, auditory feedback is hearing your own voice, which helps regulate volume and clarity.
Disrupting it (as with a slight delay) can make speaking difficult.
