art forms
Modes of expression
Art forms are the categories or mediums through which creative expression takes shape—painting, sculpture, music, dance, film, literature, and so on.
Each art form has its own materials, techniques, and traditions.
The term can also describe specific styles within a medium: The sonnet is a poetic art form.
Calling something an art form sometimes elevates it: She's turned complaining into an art form.
