aphakic
Lacking eye lens
Aphakic describes an eye lacking its natural lens, typically after cataract surgery or due to injury.
The condition is aphakia.
Without a lens to focus light, aphakic eyes require corrective lenses or an artificial implant to see clearly: aphakic glasses, aphakic contact lenses.
The term also describes a person with this condition: an aphakic patient.
