amoebic
Like certain protozoa
Amoebic describes something relating to or caused by amoebas, the single-celled organisms that move by extending and retracting their cell membranes.
The term appears most often in medical contexts, particularly in amoebic dysentery, an intestinal infection caused by parasitic amoebas that results in severe diarrhea.
The spelling amoebic is more common in British English, while American English often uses amebic.
