alley oops
Tossed-up dunks
Alley-oop is a basketball play where one player lobs the ball near the basket and a teammate catches it in midair and scores, usually with a dunk: He threw the alley-oop and his teammate slammed it home.
The term comes from the French cry *allez hop*, used by acrobats and circus performers.
Outside basketball, alley-oop can be any coordinated assist or setup between two people.
