alcohol ban
Booze sale restriction
An alcohol ban is a law or policy prohibiting the sale, production, or consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Such bans may be permanent, as in some countries with religious prohibitions, or temporary during elections, holidays, or emergencies.
The stadium instituted an alcohol ban after fan violence.
The most famous example in American history is Prohibition (1920–1933), a nationwide alcohol ban that proved largely unenforceable and was eventually repealed.
