Terminal-to-aircraft connectors
Airbridges are the enclosed, movable walkways that connect airport terminals to aircraft doors, allowing passengers to board and exit without going outside.
Also called jet bridges or jetways.
The term can also refer to air routes used for emergency supply operations, as in the Berlin Airlift: The humanitarian airbridge delivered food and medicine to the besieged city.
