acrylic glass
Shatterproof window material
Acrylic glass is a transparent plastic used as a lightweight, shatter-resistant alternative to glass.
Sold under brand names like Plexiglas and Lucite, it appears in windows, aquariums, protective barriers, and display cases.
Though it scratches more easily than glass, it won't shatter into dangerous shards: The museum replaced the glass with acrylic glass after the break-in.
