Shepherds' Christmas song
The First Noel is a traditional Christmas carol recounting the nativity story, beginning with shepherds in the fields and culminating with the Magi following the star to Bethlehem.
The refrain repeats "Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel." The carol dates to at least the 18th century and remains a staple of Christmas services and recordings: We sang The First Noel at midnight mass.
