Slim Shady
Detroit MC's alias
Slim Shady is the alter ego of American rapper Eminem, representing his more provocative, violent, and darkly comedic persona.
The character first appeared on the 1999 album *The Slim Shady LP* and became central to Eminem's artistic identity, allowing him to voice transgressive thoughts while maintaining distance from his real self: Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?
The name has become shorthand for an unhinged or deliberately offensive version of oneself.
