Simeon

Jacob's second son

Simeon is a biblical name borne by several figures, most notably the second son of Jacob and Leah, ancestor of one of the twelve tribes of Israel.

In the New Testament, Simeon is the devout man who recognizes the infant Jesus at the Temple.

The name remains in use today, though Simon is the more common modern form.
