Sanka is a brand of decaffeinated coffee, once so dominant that the name became nearly generic for decaf itself.
A server might ask Regular or Sanka?
The brand name derives from French *sans caféine* (without caffeine).
Though less prominent today, Sanka still evokes mid-century American diners and the early decaf era.
