Russkies
Slang for Soviets
Russkies is informal, often disparaging slang for Russians.
The term gained currency during the Cold War as a casual or dismissive way to refer to Soviet citizens or the Russian people generally: The Russkies are coming.
It can be used neutrally among those familiar with Russians, but often carries a mocking or hostile edge.
Singular: Russki or Russkiy.
