Rue Morgue
Murder mystery address
Rue Morgue is French for "morgue street" and entered English through Edgar Allan Poe's 1841 story "The Murders in the Rue Morgue," widely considered the first modern detective fiction.
The phrase now evokes gothic horror and gruesome crime scenes: The abandoned warehouse had a real Rue Morgue atmosphere.
