Quiet Riot
Oxymoronic rock band
Quiet Riot is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1973, best known for their 1983 hit "Cum On Feel the Noize" and the album *Metal Health*, the first metal album to reach number one on the Billboard 200.
The name plays on the contradiction between quiet and riot—a deliberate oxymoron suggesting restrained chaos.
